End Unfair Chat Ban in Call of Duty

The Issue

I am a regular player of Call of Duty, a game that merits its M for Mature rating with its explicit content, including weaponry skinned to resemble marijuana. The game prides itself on its mature themes, even providing accolades for teabagging multiple people in a single game. However, even with all this, I and several other players are subject to a chat ban for profanity. The disconnect is glaring - we are willing to part with $70 for the freedom to play this game, only to see our freedom of speech handcuffed in the chat rooms.

This is not to encourage profanity, but to highlight the inconsistency in the game's policies. The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) rates Call of Duty to be 'Mature', suited for 17+ not without reason. Still, harsh penalties are enforced for engagements expected within the demographic. Penalizing players for the lively, uncensored discussions expected in this adult setting asymmetrically centers on restricting gamers' experiences instead of enhancing it.

It's known, games are a form of expression - a virtual space for players to escape, interact, contend, and vent. If someone shells out $70 for a game, shouldn't they be allowed to fully experience it without unnecessary constraints? Let's call on the developers of Call of Duty to re-evaluate their communication restrictions. Bring back the unfiltered, energetic Call of Duty we know and love, where players aren't censored. Get rid of the unfair chat ban now - it's past time we played the game our way. Sign this petition.

Jay PlaysPetition StarterI have played COD since bo1. We never had to worry about How we watched our mouths other then our moms and dads. We pay TO PLAY the WAY we want. Why should we have to stay banned for 30+ days ON a game we paid for.
