A Step Forward: Presidential Secretariat Refers Our Petition to Two Ministries

Dear supporters,

I am pleased to share that the Presidential Secretariat has formally referred our request for a national policy on hijab in Sri Lanka’s public service to the Secretaries of the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government, and the Ministry of Health, for their attention and necessary action.

We welcome this response and sincerely thank the President  for taking this step.

This referral is an encouraging development and we will continue following up with the relevant authorities to seek a clear, fair and lasting solution.
