End the Weaponization of "Antisemitism"

End the Weaponization of "Antisemitism"
The Issue
Antisemitism is a word born from a history of deep-seated hatred, a word that should protect a people from harm. Yet today, we are witnessing a grotesque distortion of its meaning. It is being wielded not as a shield, but as a sword to silence the conscience of the world.
When we protest the starvation of children in Gaza and the destruction of Palestinian homes, we are unfairly and inaccurately branded as "antisemites." This misuse is a profound disservice to both the Jewish and Palestinian peoples, and it dangerously erodes the very meaning of the word itself.
The linguistic truth is undeniable: "Semite" refers to a speaker of a Semitic language, a group that includes both Arabs and Jews.
We call upon the Oxford English Dictionary to update its definition of "antisemitism" to encompass prejudice against all Semitic peoples, including Arabs and Palestinians. By doing so, Oxford can help reclaim the word's integrity, dismantle its current misuse as a political weapon, and empower the global movement for truth and justice in Palestine.
Join us in demanding a definition that reflects truth and justice for all peoples.
