My family, like countless others in Mill Spring, NC, is caught in a nightmare. Our two beautiful boys have been taken from their home, separated not just from us but also from each other. This is the grim reality of the shadow foster care system - a system that polices families through Child Protective Services (CPS), leading to what can only be described as legal human trafficking of innocent families and children.

This petition seeks to raise awareness about this corrupt system and bring an end to it. We remember Senator Nancy Schaefer who bravely blew the whistle on this corruption before her untimely death. Her fight for change must not go in vain.

According to statistics from The National Coalition for Child Protection Reform (NCCPR), over 80% of CPS cases are for 'neglect,' which often means poverty or conditions associated with it – issues that could be resolved with community support instead of family separation.

We stand against this violation of our constitutional rights and call upon our local government representatives to take immediate action. We need laws that protect families rather than tearing them apart; we need transparency within CPS; we need justice for those already affected by these practices.

Save our children - they deserve better than a life spent bouncing between foster homes or institutions. They deserve love, stability, and above all else - their families.
