Allianz MAC TIO, the hostage scheme in the NT that removes an individual’s right to sue for any vehicle crash related harm, is profiting from the pain, suffering, and injury of patients by denying adequate treatment, care, communication, and support.
In fact, they don’t see them as patients, only an inconvenience, and Allianz, with all the tricks of private health insurers, aim to silence and intimidate patients and deny them care.
After threats and intimidation to Joshua Clements; there is now further evidence against Allianz of sexism, ageism and racism.
The TIO in the wake of life changing injuries expected and didn’t offer any household help to Joshua Clements and his injured partner, a women, and she is a highly respected solicitor, she was ‘meant to do the housework’ with the clear indication that this was her responsibility because she was a women. Prior to the fatal crash Josh was responsible for a majority of the housework, such as cooking, cleaning etc.
Ageism has been well documented with patients/hostages routinely denied care for their injuries from crashes with the justification that their suffering is age related. One such individual on the fatal bus crash of June 6th 2022 was chucked-off the scheme without even an IME; an elderly individual suffering shock and trauma, who has subsequently discovered extensive neck breaks and injuries from the crash, was thrown-off the scheme without any due diligence by Allianz. They also refused treatment to others due to their age (as seen in an email obtained, pictured above, from a fatal crash survivor).
In the case of Nafea Soliman, systemic racism by the Allianz MAC TIO played a part in refusing to provide him with any care or support, as reported in the NT News:
…despite the accident occurring five months ago, Mr Soliman said he had only received two weeks of income support payments from TIO, worth a little over $2000 total, up until recently.
Aboriginal communities make-up 25% of the population in the Northern Territory, but the Allianz TIO MAC Scheme shows no comparable number with its employees who, at the time of writing, almost all are of white Australian descent.
This is despite the TIO being a government contracted scheme. Mr Nefea Solimon was owed tens of thousands of dollars by Allianz TIO and was only paid this once a friend of Mr Solomon, who happened to be a white Australian, got involved.
The Allianz TIO MAC NT is one of the worst examples of a private insurer, paid by the government, solely profiteering from the pain and suffering of those who have been injured in vehicle crashes. As road fatalities across Australia rise you can see how corporations like Allianz are keen to influence policy to prevent meaningful change, to prevent the creation of safer roads and safer road standards. For Allianz TIO is integrally linked to its parent company. A rise in vehicle crashes in Australia equals higher premiums, and when the claim denial rate is so significant on those crashes, higher premiums simply equal higher profits.
Allianz TIO NT made over one hundred million in profit last year by denying care to those who are in the worst moment of their lives. This is money that should be spent on giving victims compensation and solutions to rebuild their shattered lives. Instead, patients are forced to grovel and push against substantial resistance by the TIO, which seems to be the TIO’s main directive. Their ‘consultants’ who have zero health expertise, have been documented pressuring health care providers to remove treatment from patients. With one such consultant saying a patient “shouldn’t have physio”, despite suffering extensive injuries in a fatal crash, and that they should “go to the gym”. Another instance of women’s pain not being believed.
People coming onto the scheme have in some instance suffered a severe disability or lost a loved one from a crash, and immediately they are held hostage, tortured, or thrown away by Allianz TIO.
Joshua Clements states: “being on the Allianz TIO Scheme is tantamount to torture”.
Allianz TIO have remained completely silent following the response to their threatening and intimidating Joshua Clements, despite several notices of intended legal action, they, like the cowards they are, wish to hide, and continue their corruption, sexism, racism, ageism, and illegality, with zero consequences, just enjoying the profit and bonuses they receive from mismanaging a scheme so badly that it purposely fails anyone who comes onto it.
This petition calls for the immediate resignation of Travis Saxby, unqualified lead of the TIO, and, noted liar, William Oliver the MAC Commissioner. Both are well remunerated for their roles overseeing a body of suffering, death, destruction, and bigotry.
As outlined in the NT News the Allianz NT Hostage Scheme has left patients self-harming and at a high risk of suicide. The Allianz TIO does not care. They have repeatedly show a disdain and dismissal of mental health care; having previously removed a mental healthcare practitioner from Joshua Clements: which led to a severe debilitation in his condition.
The Allianz TIO chose to do this. Refusing to expand psychological health services and undermining their access. As is in the case with Joshua Clements; Allianz TIO repeated attempts to ‘get him’ have left him suicidal and have caused him to self-harm. This is not an easy thing for Joshua to admit, but as Joshua knows others on the scheme are also at such high risk of harm, he again wishes to speak out. As he first did in the NT News Article. Link on the petition’s main page.
Allianz has also shared confidential details of patients, such as Joshua Clements, who are on the scheme with their parent company Allianz; a serious breach of identity laws, the MAC ACT, and a breach that the MAC Commissioner put in writing could not happen; this serious breach of identity allows Allianz TIO to inform their parent company about individuals, such as Joshua Clements, giving them an opportunity for Allianz Commercial business to gain access and information regarding participants who are engaged in a legal battle with their parent company.
The ALLIANZ TIO MAC HOSTAGE SCHEME has not responded to any requests or messages from Joshua Clements. Joshua Clements intends to bring the full weight of civil litigation down upon Allianz TIO, and free these hostages, bringing the individuals that have caused such harm on such an unprecedented scale to justice. Those abusing a system that is rarely found anywhere else in the world, let alone in Australia (the NT is the only jurisdiction in Australia where this perverse no-fault scheme exists; we hope Allianz lobbying and its pursuant of politicians does not interfere with this petition’s aim of ending the hostage scheme and the MAC ACT).
