Family law is failing—not because the laws are flawed, but because they aren’t enforced.

Perjury goes unpunished, legal abuse runs unchecked, and families suffer the consequences.

❌Perjury in family court – Judges are required to refer instances of perjury to the AFP, yet this almost never happens. In fact, there has only been one referral in 2019. Lawyers even advise against pursuing perjury charges because it “creates conflict.” But would they say the same if their client’s ex stole from their bank account or committed assault?

❌Unreasonable legal tactics – Laws exist to hold vexatious litigants and legal abusers accountable by making them pay costs. Yet, costs are rarely awarded, leaving victims to suffer emotionally and financially—forced to keep fighting while their abuser manipulates the system.

What Needs to happen?

  ✅ Perjury is properly investigated, and the existing laws are enforced in family court—just as they are elsewhere.

  ✅  Costs are awarded against those who abuse the legal system, preventing unnecessary financial and emotional harm.

These laws already exist—but they aren’t being applied. If they were, most of the problems in the Family Court would disappear. That is the simple truth.
