Being a devoted Buddhist, it deeply impacts me to witness the transgression of our sacred space, the revered Mahabodhi Vihar, by a non-Buddhist community. This situation is facilitated by the continued existence of a dated regulation, the BTact1949, which, unfortunately, allows such encroachment to proceed unimpeded. The Mahabodhi Vihar, the revered site where Buddha attained enlightenment, carries profound historical and emotional significance not only to me but also to millions of Buddhists worldwide. Hence, its sanctity should be protected vehemently and be respected by all communities.

Not many are aware of the heart-rending fact that the Mahabodhi Vihar is currently under distress due to this inappropriate overreach. This blatant encroachment infringes upon our religious rights, ignites conflict among different communities, and defaces the serene atmosphere of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. The absence of a resolution to this issue not only disrespects our religious sentiments but also poses a threat to the preservation of our rich Buddhist heritage.

We thereby request for the immediate repeal of the BTact1949, which has fostered such intrusion. The removal of this act will restore peace, promote mutual respect amongst different religions, and most significantly, respect the religious right of Buddhists like me.
