Friends,
The Protect Our Privacy Ordinance is out in the world and we need your help to get it through Durango City Council! The ordinance would require a judicial warrant for searches conducted using the Flock camera system in Durango, set 72 hours as the standard data retention period, and create civilian oversight to ensure DPD follows the ordinance provisions.
This ordinance would not ban Flock in Durango, but it would prevent hundreds of agencies from accessing our data without oversight or consequences. Passing it would be a meaningful step towards protecting our rights from the encroachment of mass surveillance.
Here are four steps you can take help!
