I write this petition out of personal experience and a genuine concern for tourist safety. Having been personally attacked for documenting the malpractices of certain individuals running 'Cups and Balls' scams on the iconic Westminster bridge, I have taken this step to raise awareness about the issue troubling our city and its visitors.

Our beloved bridge, which should be a beacon for tourists, has somehow become a hot-spot for scammers, preying on the innocent and unsuspecting. Every year, hundreds of tourists, charmed by the historical significance of the city and the beauty of the bridge, fall prey to these con artists. Our city, known for its rich culture and remarkable history, spoils its reputation by allowing such activities to persist.

Furthermore, these scams aren't mere magic tricks or pocket-pinching pranks but have escalated to physical assaults on several instances. Therefore, this is not just a matter of protecting tourists from scams but also about ensuring their physical safety.

The City of London Police’s Fraud Squad reported a 32% rise in scams, including simple gambling ones like Cups & Balls, in the 2018-2019 period. Yes the police simply do nothing about this so it’s time that we do! ("The Telegraph", 2019). It's high time we put an end to this. But
