In an unfortunate turn of events, VanBuren Public Schools failed to take appropriate actions and failed to ensure the security and well-being of its members, not once contacting child or adult protective services. The National Crime Victimization Survey reported in 2018 that 77% of sexual assaults went unreported to the police.
