Mental Health professionals and Mental Hospital staff need to be held to a higher standard. Mental hospital patients report regular abuse which includes victims of Sexual Assault (including minors) being forcefully stripped and “evaluated” for self harm. Self harm victims often report a lack of privacy during such “evaluations” along with damaging commentary being made about their bodies and self harm. Patients with PTSD are often forced to relive thematic events due to staff being permitted to use physical force on patients. These  are just some examples of the many kinds of abuse these patients face. All staff should be highly trained in how to help patients feel safe, comfortable, and cared for regardless of their condition.
