End Mandatory Veiling for Women in Iran

End Mandatory Veiling for Women in Iran
The Issue
Stop Mandatory Veiling For Women In Iran-
During the protests that followed the death of Mahsa Amini many Iranian women, men, and children were shot or killed in the street, executed in prison without trial, or died as a result of torture. The main perpetrators are male members of Iran's “Morality Police.” At the least, 469 people have been killed. 374 of the deaths were men and 63 of the deaths were children and 32 were women.
The strict and unjust law of Iran ushered with the 1979 Iranian revolution and made quick waves to set back women's rights in Iran. Legally making it mandatory for women to wear a hijab or veil. The clause of mandatory veiling is not only a violation of women's rights but also religious persecution in a country that does not have an Islamic state religion. For example, the Christian population is estimated to range between 300,000-370,000 people and Evangelism is growing at 19.6% annually. Forcing women to wear religious garments that they may not even follow is a violation of human rights. Moreover, brutally killing women who refuse or “are wearing incorrectly” is nothing short of an atrocity and gross corruption of patriarchal leadership.
CALL TO ACTION- We must bring back light to this issue and demand the cease of Mandatory veiling in Iran. Make your voice heard. Sign the petition.
