School starts in my district in 39 days (August 22nd). The 85th Texas Legislative session begins in 180 days (January 10th). Our nation's 45th President will be sworn in ten days later (January 20th). This petition effort has less than 180 days to gain enough support the sway the Texas legislature toward a favorable vote. My fear is that in January, this nation will be so focused on swearing in our next president that this issue will take a back burner and no action will be taken. How many signatures will be required? I haven't a clue, I've never done this before. How many signature would I like to obtain? I cannot answer with a number but the word that comes to mind is "MORE". This is important to me, it is obviously important to those who have supported this petition thus far, and although they may not even be aware of this petition it is VERY important to those students who will begin entering school cafeterias in 39 days.
