In October seven more ships loaded cattle for export from our port, bringing to 42 the number of live export ships to load cattle for the cruel live animal export trade from Townsville so far this year. Figures released by MLA https://www.mla.com.au/prices-markets/trends-analysis/livelink show that in the first nine months of 2023, 474,132 cattle (including 117,120 from Townsville) 480,035 sheep and 14,704 goats plus 4,409 buffalo (Port of Darwin figures) were exported from Australia. The animals have suffered enough. Please make time tomorrow, the first Monday of the month, to remind the Prime Minister that he gave a commitment to end the export of live sheep and ask that he honour this promise NOW and also act to end the cruelty of live export for ALL animals while in government. https://www.pm.gov.au/contact-your-pm ALL animals suffer when exported live for slaughter offshore, the fate of these animals exported from Townsville to Indonesia onboard the Greyman Express in October.
