TALE Townsville Against Live Export
Jun 21, 2020

Organisers of Ban Live Exports International Awareness Day ( CIWF) have reported that on Sunday, June 14, thousands of people and organisations stormed Twitter to raise awareness and to express their anger at the outdated, cruel, and unnecessary industry of live animal exports and long-distance transports.

On June 14 there was:-:

· Participation in at least 36 countries across the world – a truly global event for the animals!

· Participation of over 100 organisations / NGOs / groups

· More than 16,000 people that marked themselves as ‘Interested’ or ‘Going’ across all Facebook Event Pages created

· More than 370,000 combined views on the ‘Survivors’ and the ‘Join the Fight’ videos

· Over 100,000 tweets bearing the hashtag #BanLiveExports were posted in 21 different languages

· A Twitter reach of over 31 million people worldwide

· #BanLiveExports was in the top 10 trending hashtags list in 3 Countries – Italy, France, and the Netherlands. They hope that this global awareness-building push will send ripples across continents and signal to policy-makers worldwide that this trade must end now.

Sadly any change will be too late to help these cattle who left Townsville for Indonesia yesterday (21/06/20) on the Ocean Drover.  Please keep sharing this petition and urging politicians to   #BanLiveExports.
