End Harassment and Ensure Fair Pay for KSRTC Workers

The Issue

My father dedicates his life to the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), and I witness firsthand the toll it takes on him and our family. He is on call day and night and rarely home. He leaves for work at 6 am and often doesn't return until 10 pm. The weekends, which should be reserved for rest, are often consumed by relentless demands from higher authorities, who insist on work regardless of personal time. This isn’t just his story; it is the reality of numerous KSRTC workers who endure similar conditions.

Mental and physical harassment in the workplace affects the well-being of these dedicated individuals, who give their all to keep Karnataka moving. It's unjust for those who contribute so much to be pressured into impossible tasks with inadequate resources. The expectation to manage with insufficient repair and maintenance support, alongside perpetual demands from superiors, creates a toxic work environment. Many in this department haven't been able to send their kids to school, and some have even ended their life due to pressure.

Furthermore, KSRTC workers deserve fair compensation for their labor. Long hours demand recognition and equitable pay, reflecting their dedication and essential role in the community. Their sacrifices during holidays, festivals, and family events often go unnoticed - it's time we change that.

We call upon the Karnataka government and KSRTC management to implement measures that ensure the welfare of their employees, including a zero-tolerance policy towards harassment and a revision of the salary structure. Create a supportive work culture where employees are treated with respect, their grievances heard, and their contributions acknowledged.

Let us stand together to demand dignified working conditions and fair pay for KSRTC workers, as they are valued members of our society. Sign and support this petition for immediate action.
