The Fight Has Only Just Begun

Brothers and sisters,
What an incredible few days it has been.
Thanks to your prayers, your support and your willingness to stand up for our faith, our petition has now passed 5,000 signatures.
Every single signature represents someone who believes Christianity deserves the same respect as every other faith in Australia.
Since we launched this campaign, so much has happened.
• Divine Playhouse's Instagram and Facebook pages have now been taken down.
• There is now scrutiny over how $100,000 in NSW Government funding was granted to this project.
• Member for Prospect, Hugh McDermott MP, has formally called for an inquiry into the funding and has written directly to the Minister on behalf of our community.
• The landlords have issued a breach notice to the venue.
• Our campaign has now been covered by Catholic Weekly, The Guardian, 7NEWS, 2GB, news.com and other media outlets.
• Social media figures including Spanian and Big Chocky have also brought attention to this issue, helping thousands more Australians become aware of what is happening.
This shows one thing:
Your voices are being heard.
At the same time, a counter-petition has now been launched by those who support Divine Playhouse remaining open. They believe the performances and venue should continue.
That simply reminds us that our work is far from over.
Our campaign has never been about hatred towards individuals or the LGBT community. We pray for every person involved. Our concern has always been about government support for performances that mock our faith and what we hold sacred.
As Christians, Scripture reminds us that our struggle is ultimately not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil.
That is why we must continue to respond with truth, prayer, charity and courage.
Please don't stop now.

Ask your priest, church leaders and community groups to share it.
This fight is only just beginning, but together we are making a difference.
As St Paul reminds us:
"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil." Ephesians 6:12
This campaign is not about hatred. It is not about attacking individuals.
It is about standing for Jesus Christ, defending the dignity of our faith, and asking our leaders to be accountable for how taxpayer money is spent.
Every signature matters.
Every voice matters.
