The Bohra community is divided in its approach to FGM. But a silent section silently applauds the Ministers words of condemnation of FGM. We Speak Out On FGM hope and appeal to the Bohra religious clergy to end FGM in the community as it harms our girls. Additionally it is against the laws of India and as per the Islamic principle of Hubul watan minal iman ( obey the laws of land) FGM should be opposed in India just the same way, the clergy has asked bohras in western countries to refrain from FGM.
