Dear Sovereign Saskatchewan Supporters,
We’ve reached a significant moment—Sovereign Saskatchewan is now on the radar of major media like CBC Saskatchewan. Today, I responded to a CBC reporter who contacted us about our petition but wrongly framed it as about “separation” and linked it to another aligned group of which we support, Unified Grassroots. Let me be clear: our petition, as you know from reading it at change.org/sovereignsaskatchewan, is about provincial sovereignty within Canada—protecting our agriculture, resources, and cultural identity through self-governance, not separatism. This misrepresentation by CBC shows they’re paying attention, but they’re trying to twist our message.
This only strengthens our resolve. Sovereign Saskatchewan is a nonprofit, grassroots, citizen-led movement, and we will not waver in our commitment to our cause: securing Saskatchewan’s autonomy and prosperity under the Canadian Constitution. Their attempt to misframe us proves we’re making an impact, and we’re just getting started.
In my response to the reporter, I clarified that Sovereign Saskatchewan does not advocate for separatism, as outlined in our petition’s clear distinction between sovereignty and separatism. I also noted that, as a student currently focused on my first co-op term, I’m not available for interviews and directed media inquiries to trusted supporters like Frank Vaughan or Nadine Ness, who can speak to our greater movement’s goals. This ensures our message stays true while I focus on growing the petition.
Thank you for standing with us. Let’s keep pushing forward, staying firm in our objectives, and spreading the word about what sovereignty truly means for Saskatchewan. Share the petition, talk to your friends and family, and let’s show the media we won’t be misrepresented. Together, we’ll keep building this movement stronger than ever.
Lastly we are almost at 5k supporters, Thank you all so much!
Sincerely,
Uncle Buck, Sovereign Saskatchewan Organizer
