Hello. I am a student who immigrated to a new country two years ago. The language there is very hard for me and I have been using Duolingo to help me learn it. 

I have a 270 day streak, and I've been pretty much able to stay within the obsidian and diamond leagues, because of how much I practice, but now I don't want to even use it at all.

Duolingo has always been very helpful, but in the recent months they've been getting more and more unbearable. The many many ads, nothing being available unless you have super or Max Duolingo, and especially not being able to access unlimited hearts anymore. 

Last night, I logged into my account, which I've had for 3 years, and I noticed that instead of the heart with infinity icon next to it, there was a heart with the number five. Without my knowledge, they had taken away my unlimited hearts, because I didn't have super Duolingo. 

I feel very unmotivated and scared to practice, because I'm afraid that I will lose hearts if I make mistakes. This is not a good way to learn, and you are not supposed to be afraid of making mistakes. Duolingo used to be super helpful and encouraging, but now it's just money hungry.

I wrote a letter to them explaining the situation, but they just told me to get super Duolingo. 

Let's bring this to their attention, and end Duolingo's Money-Hungry Reign!!! It only takes one click of the button to help millions of users all over the world help learn another language more easily.
