The Issue

I have a deep passion for pursuing a career in a government nursing college, but I've encountered a significant hurdle hindering my aspirations. Currently, nursing colleges in Karnataka recruit teaching staff largely through deputation. This process leaves aspiring professionals like myself at a severe disadvantage, depriving us of fair opportunities to secure positions as Tutors, Lecturers, Assistant Professors, Associate Professors, and Professors.

Deputation positions not only hinder prospects for numerous aspirants but also disturb the pay scale regulations, such as those set by UGC or AICTE. Many qualified individuals are ready and willing to serve, contributing to the education and healthcare sectors. Yet, due to the deputation approach, we find ourselves devoid of a platform where we can showcase our skills and knowledge, and remain stuck outside the system.

Studies and reports indicate that dedicated recruitment processes enhance the quality of education and ensure compliance with salary guidelines, fostering economic stability in the educational ecosystem. When colleges appoint staff through legitimate recruitment channels, it upholds transparency, fairness, and merit, which are critical to maintaining educational standards.

Let's urge the authorities to reconsider their staffing methodologies and promote a recruitment process that is distinct and separate from deputation. This change will offer equitable opportunities for aspiring educators who wish to enter the field fairly and competitively. It will also align the colleges with the stipulated pay scales, thus ensuring a more organized, transparent, and just system for staffing.

Karnataka's nursing Colleges thrive on excellence and integrity in education. The future of healthcare education depends on how we shape our recruitment practices today. By signing this petition, you have the power to advocate for fairness and equality in educational staffing, paving the way for a brighter, fairer future for all aspiring educators in the nursing profession. Please show your support and sign this petition to end deputation in Karnataka government nursing colleges.
