End Cyberbullying on Ghana TikTok

End Cyberbullying on Ghana TikTok
The Issue
“Dr. Zee, if you forgive them, we will sue you” has been the most repetitive comment since I shared a painful experience of being bullied on Ghana TikTok in 2024 for 4 months. On April 04, 2024, Dr. Zeeta, a Sociologist, stitched a video by Ghanaian content creator Boatemaa, who said that thinking you will attract a certain type of men after getting a degree as a woman will only lead to disappointment. So, if you want to go to school, do it for yourself and prioritize self-development, because education does not erode stupidity. Dr. Zee stitched that video and talked about the obvious and hidden functions of education. Dr. Zee said education predisposes a woman to a certain calibre of men because educational institutions are marriage markets. Boatemaa responded to Dr. Zee’s video, saying Dr. Zee should pay attention to life because “there is life after sociology,” and that Dr. Zee is proof that a woman can have many degrees, but still cannot get a man. Dr. Zee responded by saying that personal attacks are unacceptable and that the focus should be on the topic raised on April 14, 2024.
After Dr. Zee’s last video, Boatemaa and her TikTok friends launched a full-blown attack on Dr. Zee for 4 months. Sharing multiple defamatory posts by calling Dr. Zee an Academic Fraud, intellectually dishonest, a chronic liar, notorious, and describing her with other obscene language. This group of Ghanaians went so far as to crop different videos Dr. Zee had made in the past and posted them to undermine her credibility. They intentionally posted Dr. Zee’s teaching evaluations from the unaccredited site RateMyProfessors to suggest that she was sacked for being bad at her job. That decision led to their workmen being assigned to the unaccredited site to post fake reviews to destroy Dr. Zee's career.
Dr. Zee is one of the many victims of this group of cyberbullies, who have used this approach to defame and antagonize other notable Ghanaian creators on TikTok.
This petition will support a formal report to the Cyber Security Authority of Ghana and other foreign authorities about the harmful activities of this group.
The group consists of users of the following TikTok Accounts.
