End Bullying Against Alterhumans Now

End Bullying Against Alterhumans Now
The Issue
The alterhuman community, a diverse tapestry of individuals who identify as something other than human, faces a daily struggle for acceptance. Within this spectrum exist therians, otherkins, fictionkins, otherhearted, otherpaw, and so much more, each group grappling with their unique experiences. We, as members of this community, have endured a profound pain, marked by relentless bullying, harassment, and even threats of violence.
The psychological toll of such treatment is immeasurable. Many of us have been pushed to the brink of despair, our mental health fragile under the weight of societal rejection. The fear of being different, of not conforming to societal norms, has cast a long shadow over our lives. I have been a victim of that, as well as many others. I was close to the edge so many times, to the point I had to go to a crisis center to get the help I needed. I'm lucky I didn't do more.
Me and a few of my friends have had to constantly hide our true selves, in fear something bad may happen. I live in a neighborhood where if you even breathe the wrong way there's probably someone ready to shoot. I can't even go outside alone because of that, let alone wear gear in public.
For those of you reading this who live in a place where you don't have to shelter your identity from the outside world, consider yourselves lucky.
Research consistently highlights the devastating impact of bullying, with victims at a significantly increased risk of experiencing suicidal ideation. This epidemic of cruelty cannot be ignored. The alterhuman community is not immune to its harmful effects.
It is necessary that we shift the narrative. We must foster a society where individuality is celebrated, not condemned. A world where alterhumans can live without fear, free to express their authentic selves. By signing this petition, you are taking a crucial step towards building a more inclusive and compassionate future for all.
