I am now taking this petition directly to the ACNC
I’ve been working on this for 3 years now, to get proper scrutiny of COSRECI — the Church of Scientology Religious Education College Inc. and I’m not giving up.
I recently contacted Andrew Leigh MP about the concerns raised by this campaign and was directed to the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC).
I’ve contacted the ACNC several times, but have received no response. A British activist has also tried repeatedly to get answers from them, with no response.
So I’m taking the next step..
I’m taking the petition to the ACNC
I plan to personally deliver this petition to the ACNC, along with the information behind the campaign.
I’ve also lodged a Freedom of Information request specifically concerning COSRECI.
This includes asking about previously withheld documents, including 35 documents that were refused in an earlier FOI request, as well as subsequent regulatory correspondence, assessments and decisions concerning COSRECI.
I’ll share whatever information I’m legally able to share when I receive a response.
Why now?
The rules around ACNC transparency have changed.
Since December 2025, the ACNC has had limited new powers to publicly confirm certain investigations. In February 2026, the ACNC used those powers to publicly confirm an investigation into Shincheonji.
There are also further proposed reforms that could increase transparency around some ACNC regulatory decisions.
So I think it is reasonable to ask:
What has happened with the concerns previously raised about COSRECI, and is anything being done now?
This affects more than Australia
COSRECI is an Australian organisation, but Scientology operates internationally.
People affected by Scientology live in Australia, the UK, Japan, Taiwan, the US, Canada, Europe and many other countries.
The campaign is therefore open to everyone, wherever you live.
