The animal welfare act is a federal law in the United States that addresses animal testing. In reality it does absolutely nothing to protect these animals from the physical and psychological horrors they are subjected to inside of research “facilities” and laboratories. 

“The Animal Welfare Act, or AWA, is a federal law that addresses the standard of care animals receive at research facilities. This law excludes roughly 95 percent of the animals tested upon—such as rats, mice, birds, fish, and reptiles—and provides only minimal protections for the rest. Labs are not required to report non-AWA protected animals.” The standard is shockingly inadequate and barbaric.

Laboratories obtain a majority of their animals from breeders who breed animals specifically for the purpose of being experimented on and dealers who obtain animals from animal shelters. 
These barbaric acts are spread worldwide and are committed under the guise of “research”. Living, feeling beings are not experiments and it has been statistically proven to produce misleading information that is inaccurate in relation to humans during human trials  

These atrocities are continuously committed and these animals are imprisoned subject to a lifetime of fear, pain, and confinement. It is torture and no form of torture to any living being should be legal no matter the excuse behind it. 

This can not continue.
