This petition is getting more notice and gaining momentum. Although we have signatures from the world over, lately most are from Albania. Of course, it takes more than signatures to make change happen.

There are a few obvious solutions to begin to reverse the current crisis faced by the street dogs and cats of Saranda: an animal shelter, a massive and well organized spay/neuter initiative, community outreach and education programs.

But any solution begins with Saranda’s leaders acknowledging these issues — and then investing the time, thought, and money to begin to make change happen.
