Letter.. (To be emailed this Monday) Please

I’m writing this email to urge you to bring an end to the Live Animal Export trade in the near future.

The Labor government need to make good on their promise and stop sending Australian animals offshore for slaughter.

Live Export impacts oceans, reefs, marine life, climate and jobs which affect the Australian economy. There is no reason remotely good enough to continue sending these animals offshore for slaughter.

Reduce the Abuse”  and end Live Animal Export.

Hundreds of animals perish on these ships, when an animal perishes en route, it has not fed a village, a family or a single person, therefore the animal died in vain.

The other issue with offshore slaughter is jobs lost.

An abattoir closure affects an entire community. Wages earned by abattoir employees are  spent in nearby towns, this creates more jobs in rural communities and beyond.

I have spoken to numerous past and present abattoir workers with job losses always being a hot topic.

When these animals leave our shores ESCAS have limited jurisdiction. The footage released from PETA and Animals Australia are absolutely horrendous, animals are not suppose to be sold from the dock but it happens.

Animals are loaded into the car boot in 42+ degree heat and driven for hours to be slaughtered.

Some animals have chilies placed in their eyes, others have their leg tendons slashed so the animal drops, some are stabbed in the eyes and in some abattoirs they use a sledgehammer to kill the animal. This is not slaughter, this is savage torture.

David Littleproud spent $146 million training Indonesian slaughter men how to kill our animals and yet these animals still suffer.

It’s time Australian animals were slaughtered here on home soil, then chilled and flown to their destination.

Mr Albanese don’t turn your back on those of us who voted Labor on your election promise we expect you to be a man of integrity and end Live Animal Export within 12 months, all eyes are on you.

Reduce the Abuse, Stop Live Export.      I Stand Against Live Animal Exports.
