Dear friends & supporters,

The historic Latin American and Caribbean Conference on Drugs had unfolded the previous Friday in Cali. It wasn't just another conference; it was a beacon of hope led by Colombia's and Mexico's leaders. After half a century of an unyielding war on drugs, the tides had turned, and the leaders were looking for alternative strategies. We had been championing for this change, and our voices had finally been heard.

Over 15 countries were represented in this historic event, each having brought to the table their experiences and scars from years of battling the drug menace. This collaborative effort aimed to craft a new roadmap, one that is humane, considerate, and grounded in the realities of addiction, drug trafficking, and even traditional and indigenous practices surrounding plants like coca.

Our petition, our collective voice, echoed in the hallways of this conference. Mexican President López Obrador and his delegation had engaged deeply in these discussions. The culmination was a comprehensive plan, having charted the way forward, moving away from the wars of the past towards a future that emphasized life, peace, and understanding.

Countries from Argentina to Bolivia, from Chile to Peru, had joined hands, representing a united front that believed in change. While the official list had yet to be unveiled, it was known that every signature, every voice, and every story from our petition made a difference.

To all our supporters: This is just the beginning. Let's continue to rally, share, and push forward. The winds of change are upon us, and together, we can end the 50-year-old war on drugs. Stay hopeful and stay engaged. Your support is changing the world.

In solidarity & faith,
