With the Supreme Court moving to decimate abortion rights, students have raised their voices in protest with thousands of students walking out across the country from NY to Austin! Student organizers are calling for these weekly because only the people in the streets can STOP the Supreme Court from overturning Roe v Wade. These students refuse to be condemned to a future of forced motherhood and are courageously standing up to stop this.

However, school administrators are infringing on the constitutional and civil rights of students fighting for abortion rights in LA high schools and across the country. Some offenses are:

** Students are getting green bandanas taken away from them at school (supposedly a “dress code” violation!). 

** Rise Up 4 Abortion Rights flyers and stickers are being confiscated by school administrators.

** There are threats of suspension by administrators; threats to seniors on their ability to walk the stage for graduation.  Administrators called the police on students for having a speak-out during their lunch hour.

** An administrator accused a young woman involved in demanding the right to abortion, of denying other students “the right to learn,” of disrupting an AP test that is part of college entrance exams (for protests occurring outside of school) and accusing her of putting up abortion rights signage in the girl's locker room.  

** Under the signboard of ostensibly “supporting” the walkouts and asking students to “reflect” on their actions, students who participated in the pro-choice walkout are being held in detention during lunchtime hours 

** A student from a middle school in Iowa was suspended for organizing a walkout at her school

 When the future of women, girls and all of society is on the line, these students have a right to make their voices known and heard through political protest and walk-outs.
