Encourage Wild Rift to support & pay attention to Guilds

The Issue

Why guilds are important for Wild Rift:

Guilds pour a lot of hard work into making their communities great & also contribute high activity to the player base. By pouring a bit more attention & also rewards into guilds; the engagement amongst individual players becomes better. It also prevents players from having to sponsor prizes out of their own pocket to keep the engagement going.

Riot Games should recognize the dedication & passion that guilds bring to their games. Guilds play a crucial role in fostering a sense of community & enhancing the overall experience of Wild Rift games. The bonds formed within these guilds not only strengthen the player base, but also create lasting friendships & memories.

Currently, many top guilds struggle with limited support from Riot, which often leads to guild leaders & members taking on personal financial responsibilities to maintain active engagement through events, competition & rewards. This practice puts undue pressure on players who simply want to keep their community vibrant & active.

Concrete steps can be taken by Riot to support these community-driven efforts. For instance, implementing more robust in-game tools for guild management & activities, providing official recognition & support for events or offering better in-game rewards for active guilds that meet certain criteria. These actions not only empower guilds but also enhance player retention & satisfaction.

Let's create a gaming environment where guilds are celebrated & supported for their invaluable contribution to the community. Sign this petition to encourage Riot Games to acknowledge & invest in the guild system to enhance the gaming experience for everyone involved.

Why the guild system is failing & what could fix that:

  • 1 Promotion of guilds from Wild Rift: Some players don't even realize there is a leaderboard for guilds or see the purpose of being in one.

= It might help keep the player retention by promoting guilds to brand new players. It can also be promoted by centering certain event missions around guilds; even to those that aren't in one: Play Ranked/ARAM with a guild member, play 5Q whole guild, finish 600 Points in one day.

  • 2 Guild applications: Many top guilds require you to apply to their guild using another platform (Discord, Whatsapp, Telegram etc.) because we realize you can not judge a player solely but their rank & stats.

= Guild leaders & officers should have a more efficient way of recruiting the specific members they are looking for. This can be done by allowing Guild Leaders to chat to the player applying - without having to go through the process of sending them a friend request & waiting for them to accept.

  • 3 Proper in-game rewards: Since the rewards are so low, it doesn't encourage enough players to join a guild - specifically top guilds that have certain activity requirements (600 Guild Points a week).

= Guild banners have been a great addition to promote guilds (although it sometimes bugs, especially during Week 1 where there isn't supposed to be a banner) - but it does not promote to keep the players active in these guilds.

  • 4 Use of alt accounts: Because not enough players are applying to top guilds combined with the poor guild application system, most top guilds abuse the current guild system by using smurf accounts to gather these Guild Points. This method is being used in every region on Wild Rift where these alt accounts just stay in base in ARAM & let the opponents finish after 2 -3 minutes instead of having to surrender after 5 minutes.

= Guilds need a better recruitment system, as we not only want to have active players; we also want them to have proper player behavior. There is a different player base that is not highly focused around climbing up the ranks, eSports & higher elo gameplay - but actually just having fun & being part of a community. Many of these players often find themselves in a guild & can also be competitive for a different reason.
  • 5 Maximum cap of level 20: Guilds have been around for a few years & most guilds have already gotten the highest level possible. It was a fun thing to contribute to the guild with Guild Points + also getting a new level.

= Increase guild levels just like Wild Rift did with the general account levels. Add better rewards the higher the level of the guild to actually encourage members to contribute.

Additional Ideas:

  • Let guilds put a deadline & more requirements instead of just the rank requirement: Minimum (points) before deadline (time/date) each week - excluding week 5.
  • More Guild Icons: Perhaps release more exclusive guild icons that can be purchased by the Guild Leader or do something similar as to when Arcane Season 1 came out?

  • Legendary Queue Banners: Give an option in the settings if Guild Banners should be visible on loading screen or not. Guild Banners specifically in this mode should not be visible at all - especially when the purpose of Legendary Queue is to remain anonymous.
    • Some members faced an issue with this many times, as the banner would show up & players would know immediately who it was & would target that specific player the rest of the game. This gives other players the opportunity to either troll their games or target them on purpose which is not fair.

  • Whenever there are new announcements, it should pop up in the players in-game mail (same area where they claim their gifts & rewards). This would enforce players to be more involved in guilds as well as ensuring guild members stay engaged.

  • Reset Times: Weekly Rewards resetting every Monday 1-2 AM CET does face a huge struggle for a lot of top Guilds who prioritize in collecting those points. Simply resetting Weekly Rewards at Thursday or Friday would be a huge improvement as majority of the player base have more time during weekends.

  • Better Guild Points Monitoring:
    • (a) Guild Points showing up as x/600(x) instead of their current contributed Points, so you know how many points they're able to contribute if they transferred from another guild. Let's say they contributed 250 Guild Points to another Guild, then it would show up as 0/350 when they join another Guild.
    • (b) Not having to scroll all the way down whenever looking through member profiles. Once you enter a members profile & go back to the Guild's members list, it goes back to the top.
    • (c) Add an option in settings where if members don't achieve a certain amount of Guild Points within a deadline, the system will automatically kick them out of the guild.
