Today marks Armistice, a day remembered 
for when the Allies and Germany put into effect an armistice (stand still on arms) on the eleventh hour of the eleventh month.

Ironically the genocide on Palestine has continued for more than 4 weeks. With more than 10,000 innocent people killed with 50% of them being children. In fact in Gaza every 10 minutes a child is being killed right now (W.H.O).
Still NO ARMISTICE can be called for them!

Our educational institutions rightly have marked this day with schools having remembrance assemblies and concerts. However, they have categorically refused to even mention the thousands being massacred at the moment. Yet, are happy to remember and include the children of Ukraine.

Furthermore Palestinian children and their families here in the UK instead of having our validation, support and compassion in schools are being ignored, targeted and labelled. In a local secondary school here in Wales a Palestinian student was even branded as a terrorist and Nazi for wearing the country’s flag. That too by the head teacher!

This has to STOP!

No child should have to go through this and our educational institutions have a deep obligation and responsibility to protect each child and teach our future generations empathy and compassion.

It’s our duty to eradicate the double standards and hypocrisy being taught to our children. They need to learn Humanity has no borders!
