The issue is not just an inconvenience; it's a barrier that affects people’s ability to secure or maintain employment, reach essential medical appointments, and maintain a basic level of personal safety.

Rural communities like Hibbing suffer from inadequate transportation infrastructure. The few options that do exist are often unreliable and inflexible, leaving many without viable solutions. This issue creates a ripple effect of issues, impacting not just individuals, but our entire community.

In urban areas where services like Uber are available, people enjoy the benefits of flexibility and convenience. Meanwhile, in Hibbing and similar towns across rural Minnesota, the absence of such services continues to exacerbate socioeconomic disparities. The introduction of Uber could provide a feasible solution, offering residents affordable and reliable transportation, leading to improved job retention, healthcare access, and overall quality of life.
