Access to reliable and safe transportation to school is crucial for the academic success and wellbeing of students. We urge Taunton High School to reconsider its current transportation policy and decrease the mile radius for Bloom busing to include more students in the community.

Currently, many students are inside of the busing radius, making their commute to school challenging. Some have to walk long distances, often in hazardous weather conditions which poses a threat to their safety. 

Every student deserves an equal opportunity to access education without the added stress of transportation issues. 

Transport solutions like these are not new and have been successfully implemented in numerous school districts across the country. By evaluating the budget and reallocating resources, it is possible to accommodate more students without significant financial strain. Additionally, securing grants or partnerships with local businesses could provide the necessary funding to expand the bus service efficiently.

We are aware that Gatra buses are implicated as a solution to get more students to school however, it is often problematic especially, and most recently, when it comes to communication home.

We are calling on the Taunton School Committee and Bloom Bus Company to take action to address this issue. We believe that through collaborative effort and community support, we can implement a busing policy that benefits every student at Taunton High equally.
