Encourage Manchester United to sign Djed Spence or Lewis Hall
The Issue
As a dedicated Manchester United fan, I'm deeply concerned about the current state of our left back options. Luke Shaw, while experienced and talented, is now 31 years old and has shown a tendency to be injury-prone. This raises concerns about his ability to consistently perform at the highest level throughout the intense Premier League season. Meanwhile, Diego Leon, another option, has not yet reached the level of performance required to hold the position against top competitors. Lastly, Harry Amass is undoubtedly talented but still very young and needs more exposure and experience, possibly through another Championship loan, before he can confidently hold a permanent position in the team.
Given these circumstances, I strongly believe that Manchester United should consider signing a high-quality left back to take us to the top and help us achieve that Premier League title. They are players who can bring stability, skill, and resilience to this crucial position. Two promising candidates who have been identified are Djed Spence and Lewis Hall. Both players not only have the potential to fill this role effectively but also to grow and flourish within the club's environment. Djed Spence has showcased impressive defensive skills and attacking contributions in recent seasons including an excellent world cup where he has made a name for himself, while Lewis Hall is known for his versatility and tenacity on the field and can even be that 3rd midfielder at times. Djed Spence can also play RB which at times can be needed.
Manchester United fans deserve a team set up for success and trophies and addressing the left back dilemma is a significant step in that direction. Bringing in a player like Djed Spence or Lewis Hall would not only bolster our defense but also send a clear message of ambition and forward thinking. With the right investments in promising talent, Manchester United can continue to compete at the top level and challenge for the highest honors.
Please join me in urging the management and decision-makers at Manchester United to consider this crucial addition to the squad. Your support can make the difference and inspire change for our beloved club. Sign this petition today to make your voice heard and help strengthen our team in the Left Back department.
Remember when Ineos came in our goal was to win the Premier League by 2028, a statement signing like this would be vital for our chances. If we are being realistic Spence will cost around 40 million and Hall will cost around 60-70. They both meet the Ineos age structure of 26 or under and due to the versatility as Spence can play LB and RB and Hall can play LB and CM they would be perfect.
Both of these players have played on Europe's biggest stage the Champions League with Hall playing 11 games including an excellent encounter against Lamine Yamal and Djed Spence has played 10 Champions League games and 8 World Cup games being a star player for England.
There is obviously other targets Manchester United could go for in the Left Back position and in other positions such as Watkins as a striker or Tchouameni, Wharton, Scott, Kone or Baleba in midfield but for LB I think these 2 players could transform Manchester United and they would also count toeards the homegrown rule.
Career Stats:
Hall - Newcastle 102 apps 3 goals 6 assists and Chelsea 12 apps 1 assist.
Spence - Middlesborough 70 apps 2 goals Notts Forest (Loan) 46 apps 3 goals 4 assists Rennes (Loans) 10 apps Leeds 7 apps Genoa (Loans) 16 apps Tottenham Hotspur 79 apps 2 goals 3 assists.
