Update: The Fight for Transparency Isn’t Over

First, thank you again to everyone who signed and supported the petition urging the City of Lawrenceville to fully vet alternate locations for the proposed Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP).

While the council has voted to move forward with the old LHS site, this moment highlights something even bigger: how important it is for citizens to stay informed and involved.

This particular battle may appear to be lost—but the larger mission is not. Now more than ever, we must continue to hold our elected officials accountable to the people they serve.

That’s why I’ve launched a new petition to support the adoption of a detailed proposal I’ve submitted to the council:
📄 “Plan to Improve Government Transparency & Public Access”

This plan would:
✅ Livestream and archive all city council meetings
✅ Post public contact info for all aldermen (who receive taxpayer-funded phone stipends)
✅ Require agendas and public meeting announcements to be posted online and at City Hall in advance
✅ Promote greater public input and communication from elected officials

Transparency benefits every citizen—not just the people in the room.
