Petition updateEncourage Lawrenceville City Council to Fully Evaluate an Alternate WWTP Site

“Just Trust Us” Isn’t Good Enough—Not for a Decision This Big

Some have said we should simply trust “the powers that be”—that our city leaders have already done the proper due diligence when selecting the site for the new Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP).

With respect, I don’t believe they have—and here’s why it matters:

This project isn’t just expensive—it’s generational.
We’re talking about a multi-million-dollar facility that will be in operation for decades. Once it’s built, it’s built.
It can’t easily be moved. It can’t be undone.

That’s why decisions of this magnitude demand steady, sober, and thorough consideration—not shortcuts, assumptions, or political convenience.

We owe it to future generations—to our children and grandchildren—to be certain.
And that certainty only comes from a real, professional evaluation of all viable options before locking in a site.

Asking for due diligence isn’t obstruction.
It’s responsible citizenship.
