In Abanon National High School, I've seen how the lack of physical activity affects some of my fellow students. Many of us are losing energy and motivation in the afternoon because our daily routines revolve around with only sitting in classrooms for most of the day. Plus including that exercising only happen once every monday along with the flag Ceremony. Some of the students couldn't even come at a proper time resulting for them on missing exercise that happens only once a week. As a student, I know how crucial it is for us to incorporate regular exercise into our schedules to boost our health, focus, and overall ell being. Also this petition to encourage daily morning exercise for student health at Abanon National High School is important for several reasons:

Improved Health: Regular exercise can improve students' overall health, including cognitive, social, musculoskeletal, and metabolic health .

Better Focus: Exercise sharpens focus, making it easier for students to accomplish tasks efficiently .

Academic Achievement: Studies show that physical activity can improve a student’s academic performance .

Weight Management: Exercise, combined with a balanced diet, helps students manage their weight by burning extra calories .

Stress Reduction: Physical activity reduces stress by releasing endorphins, which promote a positive outlook .

Better Sleep: Regular exercise improves sleep quality, which is essential for academic performance and overall well-being .

Building Healthy Habits: Starting exercise early in life helps students maintain healthy habits throughout their lives .

Reduced Risk of Chronic Diseases: Regular exercise during school years can significantly reduce the risk of chronic diseases like obesity and type 2 diabetes

Improved Social Skills: Participating in group activities and sports enhances social skills and promotes teamwork .

Studies have shown that just 30 minutes of physical activity daily can significantly improve mood, concentration, and even academic performance. The World Health Organization recommends that children and adolescents aged 5-17 should engage in at least 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous-intensity physical activity daily. Despite these benefits, our School does have a structured program that ensures students have the opportunity to be active and healthy throughout the day tho it only happens once a week, excluding the students who ingage with sports.

Our goal is to integrate short, engaging exercise sessions into the classroom routine, making fitness a fun and rewarding part of the school day. Simple activities like stretching, jumping jacks, or a quick dance can rejuvenate students’ minds, preparing us for the next lesson while also promoting lifelong healthy habits.

Implementing daily exercise programs will not only benefit students' physical health but also positively impact mental health by reducing stress and anxiety levels. More schools worldwide are recognizing the importance of physical activity, with many incorporating short exercise breaks with proven success. Schools that have adopted similar initiatives have reported improvements in students’ concentration, behavior, and academic results.

By signing this petition, you can support the initiative to encourage daily exercise in Abanon NHS classrooms. Together, we can create a healthier, more energetic learning environment that empowers students to reach their full potential both inside and outside of the classroom. Join us in advocating for a new era of health-focused education by adding your voice to this cause today!
