Hello petition supporters - There has been a lot of positive media coverage of late about changes to legislation proposals which will make it mandatory for airlines to better care for those with mobility disabilities and their wheelchairs. But until there are wheelchairs seating systems on aircraft (there are several prototypes ready for implementation as in the attached photo) ) we will still give up our own #wheelchairs at the gate, and we won’t see them till our destination (hopefully they will be in one piece and undamaged).
We will also still be manhandled on and off aircraft in those flimsy, uncomfortable and dangerous aisle chairs. 
Proposed legislation takes a very long time to be approved, passed and become law but we still have an opportunity to tell aircraft manufacturers to make full accessibility a priority and a reality of their own volition, without waiting for legislation.  If we don’t we will wait for decades and all the talk of accessibility may just become lip service to push the subject back into the background where it has always been.
