Enable Fan Signatures on Artist Merchandise for Promotion and Resale

The Issue

As a devoted fan, I've experienced firsthand the power and potential of the online music community. Engaging with passionate influencers like @Michew on Instagram, who tirelessly support numerous artists, has magnified my understanding of this potential. These influencers - promoters, if you will - are keen to host merchandise giveaways for the fans, benefiting both the enthusiasts and the artists we admire. This practice, however, currently faces limitations.

We have a proposal that we believe would be beneficial to all parties - we ask JYP Entertainment to allow signed photo cards, banners, albums, and other forms of merchandise. This would allow influencers or fanbases to sign these items and offer them for sale or as gifts.

Empowering fans to sign and distribute artist merchandise would not only help boost the artist's promotion but also allow fans to express their connection and support to the artist in a tangible way. Thus, it enhances the fan-artist relationship and creates room for even more robust promotion.

The widespread success of influencer campaigns in driving artist visibility and commercial success is well documented - according to Business Insider, Instagram influencers alone were expected to drive over $8 billion in marketing in 2020. If fans are authorized to sign and sell merchandise, this could only add to the already growing force that is fan-based promotion.

We plead with JYP Entertainment to consider our request, as we believe it is an opportunity to harness the fervour of devoted fans and optimize promotional strategies. Please join us in our mission - sign this petition to enhance the influence of fanbases in the promotional process.
