Enable EBT Payments Online at Sam's Club

The Issue

Being a parent of four kids who are homeschooled, and residing in a rural community, I face certain challenges that others may not understand. Our local Sam's Club is an hour and a half away. By the time we drive there, my energy, along with my enthusiasm to shop in-store, diminishes drastically. Despite this, I retain my membership as even a single annual shopping trip brings significant savings, especially with so many young children to care for.

This is why I am reaching out to request that Sam's Club reconsider its EBT payment options for online and delivery services. Walmart, a partner brand, successfully allows EBT usage online and it works remarkably well. Previously, Sam's Club accepted EBT payments for pickup orders, but this has now been curtailed. It's understandable why pickups might no longer have this option due to potential no-shows, but extending this service to shipping and delivery through platforms like Instacart could make life easier for countless families like mine.

Many customers who rely on food assistance programs, such as SNAP, find it challenging to access Sam's Club products simply because their primary payment method isn’t accepted online or through delivery services. This is not only an inconvenience but also an unfair limitation to families already striving to make ends meet.

Adjusting the system to incorporate EBT payments online and for deliveries is not only feasible but socially responsible. This simple change could bring about a massive improvement in accessibility for families across the country who depend on these services.

Join me in urging Sam's Club to honor its whole customer base by initiating EBT acceptance online and across delivery platforms like Instacart. Sign this petition to let them know how crucial this is for families relying on flexibility and convenience when managing household needs.
