I would like to start out by giving a huge thank you to the people that sponsored this petition, it means so much to me. I’d like to share my personal story. I was stalked by a man I met online for four years. He would stand across the street from my job for hours, try to buzz up to my apartment and take photos of me. This cumulated in him trying to pull me down an alley one night. Thank god a homeless man chased him off and made sure I was ok. The police did very little except to tell him to leave me alone. I don’t want to think what would have happened to me of that man hadn’t been in the alley. This is why women need access to non lethal self defence. He outweighed me by about 100 lbs and was almost a foot taller than me. I would have no chance of defending myself against him. Crimes against women are on the rise and it’s time to stand up and say “NO MORE!”. I would also like to add that indigenous women are at a much higher risk than other women which I will elaborate on in my next update. Please keep sharing!
