We, the undersigned, demand a transformative shift in governance to ensure true democracy, accountability, and self-determination for all citizens. This petition calls for the following reforms:

### **1. Direct Representation in All Aspects of Life**  

**Direct Representation** means citizens have a direct voice in decisions affecting their lives, bypassing intermediaries. **Indirect Representation**, the current system, allows elected officials to make decisions on our behalf, often leading to corruption, misalignment with public interest, and a lack of transparency.  

 

- **The Problem with Indirect Representation**:  

  - Corruption: Lobbying, corporate influence, and backroom deals have prioritized profit over people.  

  - Disconnection: Elected officials often ignore constituents' needs, focusing on personal or party gains.  

  - Lack of Accountability: Decisions are made without meaningful public input, leading to policies that harm the majority.  

 

- **The Benefit of Direct Representation**:  

  - Transparency: Citizens are directly involved in decision-making, ensuring policies reflect public will.  

  - Accountability: Elected officials must answer directly to the people, not special interests.  

  - Empowerment: Communities gain control over their lives, fostering trust and collaboration.  

 

**We Demand**:  

- Monthly townhall meetings with elected officials (not their staff) to discuss and decide on policies.  

- Inclusion of citizens in all decisions that affect their lives, from local to federal levels.  

- Mandatory citizen sign-in at meetings and sign-off on agreed terms, ensuring clarity and accountability.

### **2. Term Limits for All Elected and Appointed Positions**  

Lifetime appointments and career politicians create entrenched power structures that prioritize personal gain over public service.  

 

**We Demand**:  

- Term limits for all elected and appointed positions to prevent lifelong careers in politics.  

• No more lifetime appointments; public service must be a temporary duty, not a path to wealth or power.  All security clearance, security details cease once the term is up. No more lifelong security,access to classified information,or government buildings.

Mandatory background checks of all elected appointed officials as well as any staff they wish to hire. This includes financial background checks,criminal background checks, checks for any child abuse spousal abuse,drug abuse,sexual assault or sexual harassment charges and an audit of all finances for a 20yr period.

There can be no overrides in this procedure ALL elected officials appointed officials and their staff are to subjected to this. If elected officials do not pass regardless of the outcome of the election they cannot take office.

### **3. Equal Pay and Healthcare for Elected and Appointed Officials**  

Elected and appointed officials must experience the same financial and healthcare realities as the people they serve.  

 

**We Demand**:  

- Salaries for elected and appointed officials tied to the median income of their jurisdiction.  

- Mandatory enrollment in the same healthcare systems as citizens, with identical rates and coverage.  

- An end to financial insulation that allows officials to become millionaires while in office.

### **Our Goals**:  

1. **Promote Accountability**: Ensure officials are directly answerable to the people, not special interests.  

2. **Empower Self-Determination**: Guarantee citizens are included in every decision affecting their lives.  

3. **Eliminate Corruption**: Remove financial incentives that distort governance and harm the public good.  Remove the ability for lobbyists special interests and other organizations to offer model legislation. All legislation must be original and come from the elected officials and must be made with the knowledge inclusion and consent of those within their jurisdiction.

Every issue MUST be dealt with as a single item. Bundled bills are here by banned. This guarantees that not only the elected officials will read the actual bill but that the general public is aware of the contents within the bill and have agreed on the contents terms and conditions within the bill.
