Parsis of India have to work on their own to decline Parsi population.

The Second meeting of the Jiyo Parsi Advisory Committee, held on February 28, 2026, in Mumbai, focused on maximizing community welfare by arresting population decline and strengthening socio-economic sustainability.

Chaired by Dr. Chandra Shekhar Kumar, Secretary of the [Ministry of Minority Affairs](https://minorityaffairs.gov.in/ the meeting brought together officials from the Ministry, state welfare departments of Maharashtra and Gujarat, representatives of the Bombay and Gujarat Parsi Panchayats, and the National Minorities Development & Finance Corporation (NMDFC).

The core discussion points centered on achieving the greatest positive outcome for the community through the following interventions:

* Addressing Root Demographic Challenges: Deliberations analyzed the specific factors causing demographic contraction—primarily delayed marriages, low fertility rates, changing social structures, and socio-economic hurdles—to allocate resources where they mitigate vulnerability most effectively.

* Reviewing the Jiyo Parsi Scheme Progress: The committee evaluated existing pillars to ensure government assistance produces tangible demographic benefits. Discussion focused on streamlining financial assistance for assisted reproductive technology (fertility treatments), childcare aid, and structured health support.

* Expanding Matchmaking and Counseling Support: To address marriage delays and relationship barriers, members emphasized scaling up counseling infrastructure, matchmaking initiatives, and targeted youth-and-family advocacy campaigns to foster early family formation.

* Economic Empowerment via NMDFC: Emphasizing that economic resilience reduces distress and enables family growth, the chair urged Parsi youth and women to leverage concessional loans and entrepreneurship schemes provided by the NMDFC for startups, self-employment, and skill ventures.

* Coordinated Implementation and Outreach: The committee called for unified grassroots action between local Parsi Panchayats, state welfare departments, and community institutions to eliminate administrative bottlenecks and ensure support mechanisms reach the maximum number of eligible households efficiently.

Parsi leaders / representatives who attended this meeting are requested to kindly share with community members,  what actions they have taken on the instructions issued by the Ministry of Minority Affairs in this meeting except Parsis registration drive. Government of India is taking care of Parsi community, but leaders and members of the community have to work simultaneously with Jiyo Parsi Organisation to achieve its true success.

Government can't prepare Sali Boti and Berry Pulao and  give it to Parsis as they desire.
