Stop feeding cruelty

The Issue

Cruelty Free International has exposed sickening animal tests carried out for some of the world's leading food giants: Danone, Nestlé and Yakult

Dogs, mice, hamsters, rats and pigs were subjected to experiments including being force fed to obesity, exposed to radiation and having tubes inserted into their stomachs.

The animals were often killed at the end of the experiment.

The cruel animal tests, which were all published in 2014 or 2015, were presumably carried out so that the companies could make ‘health claims’ about products, including reducing obesity in humans and our companion animals.

Find out more about these experiments and our campaign.

Not only did these experiments cause suffering to animals, Danone, Nestlé and Yakult could even be misleading consumers by making these health claims.

‘Proving’ that their products help solve health problems in animals who have been artificially given these problems, does not mean humans will therefore experience health benefits.

Instead, human volunteers and consumers should be involved in assessing the health effects of these products in real life situations.

Please sign our petition asking Danone, Nestlé and Yakult to end sickening and unneccesary animal experiments for food ‘health claims’.
