Emergency Support for Iranian who lives in Canada Impacted by War
The Issue
We are Iranian who lives in Canada. We are hurting.
As Iranian who lives in Canada, we are watching our homeland suffer under violence, war, and repression. Our families, our cities, our culture everything that connects us to who we are is under attack. We wake up every day with fear in our hearts for our loved ones. We are in mourning. We are exhausted. We are mentally and physically drained.
Despite this, we’re still expected to go on like nothing is wrong. We’re still working, studying, paying bills, and taking care of families here while being emotionally shattered by what’s happening there. Many of us are dealing with trauma, depression, anxiety, and deep instability, but there is no targeted support available for us.
And now, we can’t even speak to our families.
As of today, internet and communication services have been severely disrupted in Iran. Many of us have lost the ability to check on our loved ones, to hear their voices, or even know if they’re safe. This level of isolation and fear is unbearable. We are being cut off not only emotionally, but now technologically too.
We are calling on the Canadian government to recognize the psychological and financial toll this war is having on Iranian-Canadians. We ask for:
- Mental health support specifically for communities affected by conflict
- Temporary financial relief for those in crisis
- Immigration and reunification support for at-risk family members
- A public show of solidarity and acknowledgement of the suffering we are witnessing
Canada has always stood for compassion, human rights, and dignity. We are asking you to extend those values to us now—your neighbors, colleagues, friends, and fellow Canadians.
Please sign this petition to urge the Canadian government to take meaningful action.
We are not okay and we shouldn’t be expected to carry this pain alone.
