Dear supporters,
Thank you so much for standing with me to protect the Mornington Peninsula’s precious trees and wildlife. Sadly, I’m writing to update you on further alarming developments.
The destruction of nature strips continues at a devastating pace under the Shire’s current regime. Recently, I personally experienced an incident while attempting to peacefully question the contractors on my street. I was physically pushed (shouldered) by two workers, and had branches cut dangerously above me while the chainsaw was still running, causing debris to strike my body. I also witnessed intimidating behaviour, including the contractors filming me and photographing my car registration without consent.
A formal complaint has been lodged with the Mornington Peninsula Shire regarding this unacceptable behaviour and the unsafe, ecologically reckless way these works are being carried out.
This isn’t just about one street. It’s about our entire Peninsula — the loss of habitat for native birds, possums, bats, and insects, and the slow erasure of the landscapes we love.
Please continue to share the petition far and wide.
Please also consider contacting the Council directly to voice your concern. Every message matters.
We need to show the Shire that our community demands better — for safety, for wildlife, and for the future of our beautiful Peninsula.
Thank you for your incredible support. I will keep you updated.
