To our community of supporters,

I am writing this with a heavy heart to provide an update on our local landscape. Despite our collective voices, bulldozers have cleared approximately 60 acres of core koala habitat, leaving a scar on our region that will take generations to heal.

However, 140 acres still stand. We have an opportunity to save the remainder, but we are fighting a system designed to fail our environment.

The Reality of "Can-Kicking"
Over the past few months, the "can-kicking" between local, state, and federal governments has been eye-opening. While each level of government claims to value our natural assets, the reality is a web of legislative loopholes. We have seen firsthand how the Nature Conservation Act, the Environmental Protection Act, and existing Koala policies are failing to provide actual protection when it matters most.

These laws are currently acting as a "how-to guide" for developers to bypass restrictions rather than a shield for our wildlife.

Our Next Step: A Direct Plea to Parliament
Because the current system is broken, we are taking this to the highest level. I have launched a formal E-Petition to the Queensland Parliament. Unlike a general protest, this petition forces a formal response from the government and demands specific legislative changes to close the loopholes that allow this destruction to happen.

We need your valued, ongoing support. If you believe that our native forests deserve more than "can-kicking" and bureaucratic excuses, please take 60 seconds to sign this formal petition.

We cannot bring back the 60 acres already lost, but we can fight to protect other woodlands that remain and ensure that our kids don't inherit a landscape of stumps and dust.

Thank you for standing with us. Let's turn this heartbreak into a mandate for change.
