Horse drawn carriages need to be banned for the preservation of horses because they are often startled by car horns and run dangerously into crowded streets. Horses also frequently suffer from life threatening illnesses due to exhaust fumes, and are involuntarily forced to carry enormous loads through extreme weather which can cause serious health issues. The deaths of both horses and people make it evident that the industry poses great danger. Approximately 2.5 million horses have been employed to mankind since the 15th century and continue to suffer. Horse drawn carriages have caused suffering, injuries, and deaths, yet people overlook these facts because of a romantic tourist attraction. Is love letting horses suffer on the streets everyday? As horses are forced to work through torrential downpour, blazing heat, and sleet nobody speaks up to save them. I urge you to contact your local government and tell them horses must be free. It is our turn to saddle up and cut the reins on horse drawn carriages.
