PETITION FOR THE IMMEDIATE RELEASE OF ELIZABETH HOLMES BASED ON NEW SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE AND VALIDATION OF HER RESEARCH
To the Honorable Judicial Authorities and the Broader Scientific Community:
We, the undersigned, respectfully submit this formal petition calling for the immediate reconsideration of the case against Elizabeth Holmes and request her release in light of newly validated scientific findings that vindicate her research, methodology, and technology.

1.  A Proven Scientific Breakthrough—Ignored
   Elizabeth Holmes’ pioneering work at Theranos focused on diagnostic accuracy using minimal blood samples—an idea once dismissed, but now proven. Recent findings have confirmed that her original methodology using the Theranos Edison (TSPU – Theranos Systems Processing Unit) was capable of detecting both free and total VEGF (Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor)—a breakthrough not possible with traditional assays used by LabCorp, Quest, and other national labs. These competitors rely heavily on reagents like those from R&D Systems, which are based on the same antibody used in the drug Avastin® (Bevacizumab).
   Holmes identified a critical flaw in these traditional VEGF tests. Since Avastin is an anti-VEGF monoclonal antibody, it masks VEGF presence in ELISA assays using identical antibodies, leading to dangerously inaccurate results. Her proprietary Theranos assay successfully bypassed this issue and revealed what others could not: the hidden dangers of VEGF suppression therapy.
2. The VEGF Rebound Effect—Confirmed by External Medical Research
   Holmes’ research demonstrated that Avastin treatment triggered a VEGF complex rebound—a dramatic increase in VEGF levels following treatment discontinuation. From a baseline of approximately 140 pg/mL, post-treatment VEGF levels surged to over 8,000 pg/mL. This alarming rise indicated an aggressive angiogenic response, potentially worsening cancer rather than halting it. 
   This phenomenon, once dismissed by pharmaceutical experts such as Dr. Shane Weber and Pfizer (as documented in his December 31, 2008, report presented in her trial Trial Exhibit 0143), has since been independently confirmed by JAMA Open Network in 2023, validating Holmes’ concerns:

   3. Independent Validation by Former Lab CEO Ryan El Hosseiny
   Ryan El Hosseiny, a former national lab CEO and a recognized leader in diagnostic innovation, has nowrecreated Holmes’ testing protocols and confirmed the following:
   The Edison’s VEGF testing technology was scientifically sound and accurate.
   Conventional methods used by labs like LabCorp may underreport VEGF levels due to the masking effect of anti-VEGF antibodies.
   The VEGF rebound phenomenon cannot be reliably detected using conventional testing, posing major risks to cancer patients when therapies like Avastin are discontinued.
   Elizabeth Holmes did not lie—her machine worked, and her research was not only visionary but accurate.
   4. A Miscarriage of Justice
   Elizabeth Holmes is currently incarcerated based on the claim that her science was fraudulent. However, the very system that condemned her now must contend with the undeniable truth El-Hosseiny discovered: her technology works. The Edison device, once declared a deception, has now been proven functional by third-party laboratories—and more importantly, her scientific insight into VEGF testing has been vindicated by the broader medical community.
   5. The Time to Act Is Now
   Science evolves, but justice must keep pace with truth. Ms. Holmes' conviction is no longer sustainable in light of this transformative evidence. She was not a fraud—but rather a visionary punished for revealing uncomfortable truths ahead of their time.
   We call upon the appropriate legal authorities to immediately reevaluate her case, vacate her conviction, and grant her release. Her imprisonment no longer serves justice—it only delays it.
