We are already very close to a nuclear war between the largest and militarily strongest countries in the world.

 I am very concerned (alarmed) about a nuclear confrontation in the near future between the West (USA, Europe, NATO) and the East (Russia, China, North Korea, etc.).

⭐ ALARMING SITUATION

 I am deeply moved to initiate this petition because of the imminent threat that nuclear weapons pose to our world. The existence of these weapons threatens not only peace, but also the very survival of humanity. 

According to the Federation of American Scientists, as of 2021, there are approximately 13,080 nuclear warheads in existence globally (Federation of American Scientists). This number is alarmingly high and poses an existential risk that we cannot ignore.

The devastation caused by nuclear weapons is unimaginable. The bombings in Hiroshima and Nagasaki during World War II serve as a grim reminder. Over 200,000 people lost their lives instantly or from radiation sickness following the bombings (International Committee of Red Cross).

We have already seen preparations for nuclear attacks and statements about the use of nuclear weapons.

We cannot take them lightly based on the logic of some that they will not eventually use nuclear weapons because it would devastate humanity and the planet.In these situations and moments in history, unfortunately, logic does not prevail, but passion, hatred, selfishness and greed.

And having a deep knowledge of human psychology, I have no doubt that they will use nuclear weapons when the circumstances arise.

For this reason, we must not leave our fate to chance or to a baseless hope that nuclear doom will be avoided. We can and must take our fate into our own hands.

We need to ACT NOW, starting with a simple step. A signature that takes only a few seconds to demand that all governments and parliaments of the world take immediate action to destroy the entire nuclear arsenal, without hidden agendas. We demand the destruction of nuclear weapons NOW.
